In the early days of radio broadcasting, sports presentations was practiced by the hard guys in the industry due to the nature of the job. To see a female sports Journalist or Presenter in particular was not common in the industry.
But in recent times the story has changed, as the adage goes "What men can do women can do it better" and these beautiful ladies are doing it better.
I can say Brong Ahafo Region is the hub of female sports broadcasters, this region has produced more female sports presenters than any region in Ghana and these ladies, I refer to them as Queens are lovely to be listened to either hosting, local, or foreign sports presentations.
In no order, these are the top ones making the airwaves gender balancing, supprisenly they all base in Sunyani. (Kindly alert me of any female sports presenter in other parts of BA)
1 Princess Nafisa (Service Radio)
She has worked with stations in Techiman, before moving to Sun City radio, joined Ark FM and recently appointed as the Head of Sports at her current station.
2 Akosua Frimpomaa (Sun City Radio)
Akosua also worked with Free FM in Techiman, she replaced Princess Nafisa some years back at Sun City radio.
3 Queen Salamatu (Akonoba FM)
Very talented upcoming female sports journalist, she sits in as the Host of Sports Empire whenever am not available, sometimes I intentionally sit back for her to take control. I love her analysis especially in the local front.
4 Queen Angie (currently unattached)
She worked with Gift FM in Dormaa for a very long time before joining the newly established Potters FM. She resigned from the station about some weeks ago.
5 Memunatu (Radio BAR)
She has been very consistent and known to be the face of female sports journalists in the region.
