As part of the measures to stop the spread of the Coronavirus pandemic, the Brong Ahafo regional minister has outlined neccesary steps to stop the spread in the region.
A press statement released from the office of the regional minister Hon Ama Kumi Richardson as sighted by fillascornergh.com has ban the usage of tricycles popularly known as "Pragia" carrying persons for commercial purposes.
The usage of this tricycles is very common in major cities in the Bono region such as Berekum, Dormaa, Drobo etc.
There are other measures including, All Honourable Members being encouraged to form Community Watchdog Committees to help locate strange persons in the communities for surveillance.

PRESS STATEMENT BY BONO REGIONAL MINISTER- HON EVELYN AMA

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Following the continuous review of the situation in relation with the COVID-19 pandemic in the Region and on the advice of the Regional Health Directorate and the Regional Security Council, the following measures and steps are being taken to help prevent the spread of the disease in the Region.
1.
All Municipal/ District Security Council should continue to meet as and when necessary to monitor the movement of people especially at the Country's western boarders to prevent the influx of foreign nationals into the region.
2.
Barriers are to be mounted at all entry points of the region to regulate the movement of people unknown persons into the region for purposes controlling the spread of the disease
3.
The use and patronage of tricycles ('Pragyia') for carrying of persons for commercial purposes is banned forthwith.
4.
All Honourable Assembly Members within the region are to play an active role in identifying and monitoring the presence of visitors/ strangers who are not ordinarily known in the communities and to report to the District
Public Health Emergency Management Committees under the Chairmanship of the Municipal/ District Chief Executives for appropriate actions to be taken if they become suspicious
5.
Again All Honourable Members are being encouraged to form Community Watchdog Committees to help locate strange persons in the communities for surveillance.
6.
All Market Women and owners of other places used by the public must be encouraged to practise social distancing as a way to prevent the spread of the disease
7.
In order to make social distancing more effective, MDCEs should meet all Markets Associations and Women to discuss arrangements towards selling on alternate days as soon as possible.
8.
As much as possible, all Assemblies should use the Information services Department Mobile Van in educating the public on the use of all the protocols to help contain the disease. All Assemblies are to provide the needed support for exercise.
