The Berekum Pragia Drivers and Owners Association has donated to the World of Friends Orphanage Home in the Berekum municipality in the Bono region after ban on them was lifted by the regional minister.
Items donated by the association on last Tuesday April 28, 2020 includes 4 bags of rice, 2 bags of gari, oil, soap, toiletries, drinks, tin of tomatoes and others.
Speaking on behalf of the Association the Public Relations Officer Mr Julious Amparbeng disclosed the reasons behind this kind gesture
"We are doing this to help our younger brothers and sisters here because of the crises we all facing due to the coronavirus pandemic, so we saw it necessary to come to the aid of this home in this trying times"
"All the things you see here are from the members contributions, we know this is not enough but we think can help in one way or the other" he added.
Receiving the items on behalf of the home, the home mother Madam Serwaa Akoto also thanked the association for their kind gesture.
"Thank you for the love and care shown to us, may the Lord bless you all we really appreciate this"
"As part of the measures to stop the spread of the COVID19 virus the children have been kept indoors so we are expecting people to come to our aid" she pleaded to the general public.
A certificate of honour was given to the association as a sign of appreciation to them for visiting the home.
The chairman of the association Mr Appiah Ranson assured that this donation will not be the last time the they will visit the orphanage home but will keep on coming to support the children in the home.
